Full fuel flow through the cylinder heads is the best idea possible. This help keep the fuel clean and cool. The factory fuel system is designed as a dead end system. That means that once the fuel enters the cylinder head, it is there heating up until the injectors use it.
While that system is a good system, there are many faults. One of the biggest is the back injectors running dry or low on fuel pressure and the internal components of the injectors getting scared. The scaring eventually causes the injectors to fail and need to be replaced.
Our Crossover Line kits help prevent this by equalizing the fuel pressure between the cylinder heads. The fixed orifice kit takes it one step further by returning extra fuel back to the fuel tank.
This can extend the fuel pump’s life by easing the resistance during none wide open throttle driving (which is approximately 90+% of the time). Most aftermarket fuel pumps are regulated at the fuel pump and are capable of supplying a lot of fuel at that regulated fuel pressure. So, by adding a small fixed orifice, we are not lowering the fuel pressure.
By returning a small amount of fuel back to the fuel tank, we help keep fresh fuel going into the cylinders. This, also, helps keep the cylinders free of air, and the overall fuel quality increases as it is filtered multiple times (helping extend injector life).
We manufacture stainless steel return lines that connect to the back of the cylinder heads and bring the fuel to the top of the intake manifold. We have given the design of these lines a lot of consideration. Being mechanics ourselves, we have cut a groove on the inside of the banjo fitting for an o-ring. This o-ring seals the banjo fitting to the head with very little chance of falling off during installation, unlike the normal banjo washers. If one does fall off, no worries, we include an extra o-ring just in case.
Once the fuel has been directed to the top of the intake manifold, we use a steel braided Teflon lined hose to connect the two sides to a y-block (where the orifice is). From the y-block, we use another steel braided Teflon lined hose to connect back to the factory return line.
The fuel line we use is the standard for the automotive industry. It is made up of two different layers. The inner layer is extruded Teflon® and the outer layer is stainless steel braid. This is the ONLY line that is designed to handle diesel fuels, additives, Bio-diesel, Waste Vegetable Oils (WVO) and all additives known to us. (Teflon® is a registered trademark of DuPont Performance Elastomers.)
This fuel line is designed to will outlast your engine and truck. The operating temperature of this line is -65 to +450 degrees Fahrenheit. That means your fuel system will still be working even when you stop no matter where you are.
All hose ends are precision machined. These ends are designed to flow the maximum amount of fuel without sacrificing quality and risking cracking or breakage.
All fittings in this kit feature either o-ring seals or washers. No Teflon tape is needed during installation. All fittings are adjustable allowing the fuel line to naturally run without binding or putting pressure on the fitting, which could cause failure.
Don’t be fooled by imitations. Many other companies use smaller lines and drill out the banjo bolt to increase flow. This helps, but it certainly isn’t a good alternative. We use the largest lines and fittings possible without having to use a reducer. In addition, our lines are specially designed for diesel fuels and additives.
This kit doesn’t sacrifice quality or reliability. We don’t believe in that! This kit comes with a 50 year warranty against defects, leaks or anything else that comes up. The only exception is if the lines get cut, pinched and/or damaged by user error.
Please note: The Fixed Orifice Kit is individually tuned for each truck. As such, the initial y-block with a fixed orifice may or may not be the best for your applications. We work with each truck owner to tune the orifice size so that fuel pressure don't drop below allowable levels.
